Mission Statement
We at the Battle Creek Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition are dedicated to increasing awareness about human trafficking, supporting survivors by connecting them with recovery resources, amplifying their voices, and advocating for systemic change.
Vision Statement
Our vision is a community where the signs of human trafficking are recognized, survivors receive the comprehensive support they need, and systemic issues contributing to exploitation are addressed, leading to a society free from the grasp of human trafficking.

Awareness & Understanding
Goal:
Our vision is a community where the signs of human trafficking are recognized, survivors receive the comprehensive support they need, and systemic issues contributing to exploitation are addressed, leading to a society free from the grasp of human trafficking.Actions:
Conduct community outreach programs, media campaigns, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations to disseminate information about human trafficking. Develop and offer educational workshops, training sessions for professionals such as law enforcement and healthcare workers, and school-based programs to educate young people. -
Healing & Empowerment
Goal:
Support the recovery and empowerment of trafficking survivors.Actions:
Provide support and direction to comprehensive services, including counseling, medical care, legal assistance, and safe housing. Bridge victims to essential resources and include resilience-building activities in survivor support programs to promote strength and endurance through training and self-help resources. -
Amplifying Survivor Voices
Goal:
Prioritize survivor-led initiatives and peer support groups and provide platforms for survivors to share their stories.Actions:
Create opportunities for survivors to contribute to policy discussions, training programs, and community outreach efforts. Establish survivor support groups and mentorship programs. Amplify survivor voices through media campaigns, public speaking engagements, and advocacy initiatives. -
Systemic Justice and Change
Goal:
Advocate for changes in laws, policies, and practices to prevent and address human trafficking.Actions:
Advocate for systemic change with policymakers, stakeholders, and community leaders. Address root causes of exploitation, such as poverty, inequality, and unjust laws. Collaborate with local and state agencies to develop and implement comprehensive anti-trafficking strategies.
These pillars are the legs that support our mission, like a table that feeds our community with knowledge, support, and advocacy. We are unwavering in our commitment to meet survivors in their mess, providing the necessary resources and support to aid their recovery and empowerment. Together, we will not rest until e combat human trafficking and provide hope and healing for all survivors from Battle Creek and beyond.

At UnSilenced, healing is at the heart of everything we do, and Sammy, our dedicated support dog, plays a crucial role in that mission. With his gentle spirit, comforting presence, and unwavering loyalty, Sammy provides emotional support to survivors, team members, and the community we serve.
Why is Sammy an essential part of our team?
🐾 A Calming Presence: For survivors processing trauma, moments of distress can be overwhelming. Sammy offers unconditional love and comfort, creating a sense of safety and stability in difficult times.
🐾 Building Trust: Many survivors of human trafficking and domestic abuse struggle with trust. Sammy’s warm and nonjudgmental nature helps break down barriers, making it easier for individuals to open up and engage in healing conversations.
🐾 Stress Reduction for Our Team: The work of fighting human trafficking is intense, and Sammy provides much-needed emotional relief to our staff and volunteers, ensuring they can continue their advocacy from a place of wellness and resilience.
